Become a Legion Rider


All Legion Riders will adhere to the following guidelines and complete the forms below and submit them to the American Legion Rider Director for approval. Each rider will be provided with a set of patches that will be returned upon leaving American Legion Rider Chapter 295. 

Riders from another Post not having a Legion Rider Chapter may join ALR Chapter 295. Dues must be current and paid by July each year. 
LEGION RIDER GUIDELINES

That the following guidelines are established for The American Legion Riders Chapter 295

  1. All members of ALR 295 shall be current members of The American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary or Sons of The American Legion;
  2. Each ALR 295 member shall also own a motorcycle, or be married to a motorcycle owner under state law;
  3. Each ALR 295 member shall be properly licensed and insured as required by state law, and will obey the motorcycle laws of their state;
  4. All ALR members shall strive to maintain the image of The American Legion, at all times upholding The American Legion name and emblem, which symbolizes the integrity and principles of this great organization;
  5. The ALR 295 program will avoid the perception of being a motorcycle or biker “club”;
  6. The only recognized ALR logos are those which are copyrighted and sold through The American Legion National Emblem sales;
  7. All vacancies that might occur from time to time in Post ALR 295 positions must be filled by the Post 295 executive committee;
  8. The Post ALR 295 program must report monthly to the Post 295 executive committee, or duly appointed representative of the committee, with both an activity report and a financial status report of the Post 295 ALR program;
  9. The Post 295 finance officer or treasurer must be signatory on all accounts established by the Post 295 ALR program;
  10. The ALR 295 constitution & bylaw, and any current or future amendments, must be approved by the Post 295 executive committee;
  11. Post 295 will review liability insurance coverage to ensure that adequate coverage is available to protect the organization, to include the occasional purchase of additional coverage for any special ALR events;
  12. American Legion Riders Chapter 295 shall abide by The American Legion Constitution and By-laws as well as the established Post 295 directives; and, be it finally
  13. American Legion Post 295 shall retain general oversight of all ALR 295 programs as regards to proper use of the names and emblems of The American Legion, The American Legion Riders and The American Legion Legacy Run, and shall remain in compliance with the National Constitution and By-Laws of The American Legion.

Your deposit of $100 will be returned when you leave Legion Rider Chapter 295 and return the original patches you were issued. You may keep them after you leave, but will forfeit the $100 deposit.
